Have you tried the Stampin’ Write Markers? When Stampin’ Up! did their Colour Revamp this year they retired 13 of their Core Colours and bought in 10 new Core Colours and 6 returning colours.
The new and returning colours are gorgeous but like many crafters I couldn’t afford to buy 16 ink pads so I was really happy to see the new colours were available as a set of Stampin’ Write markers.
The markers were one of the first things on my shopping list along with the new colour assortment cardstock pack and after saving for a while I placed my order. When it arrived I was so excited to be able to use the new colours in my crafting. It’s strange what makes some people happy.
The Stampin’ Write Markers are available in 51 of the 53 Stampin’ Up! colours, there isn’t a Very Vanilla or Whisper White marker. You will find details on all the markers by clicking on an image at the bottom of this post.
I use my markers a lot, I use them to:-
- Colour stamped images.
- Watercolour – I scribble them onto a white ceramic tile and use an aqua painter, paint brush or blender pen to watercolour with them, you can use a clear block too.
- Colour straight onto the stamp for multicoloured images and ombre effect.
- Ink the stamps when I’m using my Stamparatus, they are perfect for inking the stamps because the ink pads are too big and leave a lot of ink on the plates.
- When I go on holiday they don’t take up a lot of room and I don’t have to take ink pads, watercolour pencils, colouring pencils etc.
- Splatter ink on some of my cards.
- Scribble them onto an acrylic block or acetate, spritz with water and then place it onto a piece of watercolour paper. They make great backgrounds for your cards and everyone you do will be different.
The markers were an affordable way for me to build up my collection of Stampin’ Up! colours (demonstrators get 20% discount) and because they have the same dye based ink as the ink pads they are refillable.
They have a brush tip at one end and the other end has a 0.5 mm fine point that’s great for colouring those teeny tiny areas, journalling or filling in an outline that hasn’t stamped properly. I would be lost without my markers.
There is a pack of Coastal Cabana and Lovely Lipstick markers which are great to try before buying any of the larger packs.

There are 41 markers in the Many Marvelous Markers including the 16 new colours. They are in a holder and have a sturdy case, there’s extra room for both sets of In Color Markers. The markers in this set are:

Hi Marina, Yes it was Item No. 147160 – these are the new/returning colours that were introduced in this years Annual catalogue. You have the Stampin’ Write Markers or the Stampin’ Blends to choose from.
The Stampin’ Blends are alcohol markers and at the moment they are only available in certain colours, there are 2 new colours that will be available in the Autumn/Winter catalogue. They are not refillable so when the marker runs out you need to buy a replacement. The Stampin’ Blends cost £4 each or the combo pack (1 light and 1 dark of the same colour) is £8. You have to make sure you don’t leave the cap off for too long otherwise the alcohol dries out. They are easier to blend compared to Copic/Spectrum Noir markers (there are other brands too) because there is only a light and a dark marker.
The Stampin’ Write Markers are available in 51 of the 53 colours. They are refillable and you can use them in so many different ways, I listed quite a few ways in this post. You can use the same ink to refill the Stampin’ Write markers and the stamp pads too. You only use a small amount of ink when you colour stamped images or when you use them to watercolour. To be honest all the ways I listed only use a little bit of ink. I have had my markers for a long while and I haven’t had to refill any of them yet.
I can advise but it is personal choice, some will prefer the Stampin’ Blends and others prefer the Stampin’ Write markers. I hope this helps but if you need anymore help let me know. xx
