Pootler’s Design Team – Week 2

Thank you for joining me for Week 2 of the Pootler’s Design Team Challenge.  I’m having so much fun playing with the Crafting Forever stamp set, I have finished my 4 projects for the challenge and jotted down several more ideas in my notebook that I’m hoping to make in the next few months.

If you follow my blog you will know that I love colouring, I tend to spend a few days each week colouring stamped images with either my watercolour pencils or alcohol markers.  It helps to relieve stress which lessens my M.E. pain.

Whenever I go away I always take my water colour pencils with me, I love my alcohol markers but they are too bulky to take.  I have a ‘Watercolour To Go Kit’ which is a Clear Mount Stamp Case that holds all my Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils, a Blender pen, an Aqua Painter and a pencil sharpener. Continue Reading →

3 Ways to Gift Wrap Tic Tacs – Old Meets New

Are you ready for the festive season or are you like me still doing Christmas shopping and wrapping presents?

I have been looking after Kayleigh for the last 2 weeks, her surgery went well and she is now at home and getting better every day.

Yesterday it snowed here and everything looked so pretty, it has helped to get me in the mood for Christmas.

Today I have 3 different ways of wrapping the large boxes of Tic Tacs, my hubby adores them and they make great stocking fillers.

When I was choosing which cardstock, DSP and stamps to use I picked ones that would be ideal for male or female recipients.

Old Meets New – Combining Retired and Current Products

Normally I avoid using retired products when I’m going to share the project with you because I know how frustrating it can be when you see a project you want to recreate and find the products are retired.

While I was Christmas shopping in The Range I bought a cute chocolate elf lolly that I wanted to make a box for and put an elf on the front of it.  When I got home I couldn’t decide what stamp set to use.

There is an elf in the Christmas Cuties stamp set that I love to colour but the stamp set is retired and there is also another elf in the Festive Phrases stamp set.  Even though the stamp set is called Festive Phrases it isn’t just for Christmas it’s also for Valentines and Halloween too.

Elegant Emerald Box for Mint Lindor Chocolates

My daughter Kayleigh is amazing, she is kind, caring and beautiful inside and out.  As soon as I see her she cheers me up and she always makes me laugh.

Whenever Kayleigh goes shopping she always comes home with something for me, sometimes it’s something she’s seen that I can make a pretty box for or it’s a new chocolate she has found for us to try.

When Kayleigh came home with a box of Limited Edition Mint Lindor I just had to make a pretty box for them.

Craftroom Organisation Series – Colour Combinations & More

I really enjoy colouring I find it so relaxing and it’s something I can do when I’m not well enough to go into my craftroom to craft.

I always keep a stack of images to hand that have been stamped onto watercolour paper and thick white cardstock.

When I’ve used my Spectrum alcohol markers for colouring it can be difficult to find a Stampin’ Up! colour that coordinates with the Spectrum colours I’ve used.  A couple of years ago I saw a Connie Stewart video where she had punched circles of every colour of Stampin’ Up! cardstock and used them to come up with colour combinations.  It was a great idea and I did this too but I also found another use for them that saved time, cut down on tidying up and gave me more time to craft.

OnStage Solihull Swaps – Ribbon Scissor Charms

Last weekend Hubby and I went to Solihull for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event which is held twice a year.  Demonstrators who attend get a copy of the upcoming catalogue and play with some of the new products.

For the event I made 50+ swaps and I got to swap and chat with lots of demonstrators. I came home with a bag full of swaps that I can use for inspiration.

For my swaps I made Ribbon Scissor charms with the Shrinkles Shrink Art sheets, these are great fun to play with.  They reminded me of when I was at school and I used to put crisp packets in the oven to shrink them and make key rings and badges with them.  Did you do that too?

Thank You Dragonflies Card

My project today is a really quick and simple Thank You card.

If you follow my blog you may have noticed how much I love Berry Burst, I’ve been using it a lot lately.  As I’m sat here writing this post the UK has had the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia and it’s a miserable day outside but the bursts of colour in my craftroom are always so uplifting.
