Craftroom Organisation Series – Colour Combinations & More

I really enjoy colouring I find it so relaxing and it’s something I can do when I’m not well enough to go into my craftroom to craft.

I always keep a stack of images to hand that have been stamped onto watercolour paper and thick white cardstock.

When I’ve used my Spectrum alcohol markers for colouring it can be difficult to find a Stampin’ Up! colour that coordinates with the Spectrum colours I’ve used.  A couple of years ago I saw a Connie Stewart video where she had punched circles of every colour of Stampin’ Up! cardstock and used them to come up with colour combinations.  It was a great idea and I did this too but I also found another use for them that saved time, cut down on tidying up and gave me more time to craft.

OnStage Solihull Swaps – Ribbon Scissor Charms

Last weekend Hubby and I went to Solihull for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event which is held twice a year.  Demonstrators who attend get a copy of the upcoming catalogue and play with some of the new products.

For the event I made 50+ swaps and I got to swap and chat with lots of demonstrators. I came home with a bag full of swaps that I can use for inspiration.

For my swaps I made Ribbon Scissor charms with the Shrinkles Shrink Art sheets, these are great fun to play with.  They reminded me of when I was at school and I used to put crisp packets in the oven to shrink them and make key rings and badges with them.  Did you do that too?

Creativity Combined Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us today for the Creativity Combined Blog Hop.  When Christine Bettany suggested doing a Thank You blog hop for Sarah Reynolds, who helped a group of us set up our own websites, we all jumped at the chance.

The ladies taking part today would all like to say a massive Thank You to Sarah for all the help and advice she has given us.

Sarah you are amazing, you have always been there when I needed some help and you work so hard in the background keeping Lady Dee Crafts up and running.  I never thought I would have my own website, you are a star and I can’t thank you enough. Dee x

Thank You Dragonflies Card

My project today is a really quick and simple Thank You card.

If you follow my blog you may have noticed how much I love Berry Burst, I’ve been using it a lot lately.  As I’m sat here writing this post the UK has had the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia and it’s a miserable day outside but the bursts of colour in my craftroom are always so uplifting.

Heat Embossed Snowflake Cards

Back in August I experimented with heat embossing the foil snowflakes and found that after adding 2-3 coats of embossing powder they looked metallic (click here to see the post.)

I want to share with you today how beautiful these look on Basic Black card bases, I chose black because it made the metallic embossing really stand out.

Swirly Snowflakes All Year Round

To cut down on the cost of Christmas I’ve been making some handmade Christmas gifts. One of the things I’ve been making is covered notebooks, I went Christmas shopping with my daughter recently and I couldn’t believe how expensive they were.

It is definitely a lot cheaper for me to buy some plain notebooks and cover them myself using the colours and designs I want to use.

Oven Gloves Covered Notebook

Thank you for joining me today.  This is a busy time of year for crafters, we are making projects that we can give as Christmas presents and many of us are making them for craft fairs too.

Notebooks are really popular but the pretty covered notebooks they sell in the shops are so expensive.  I always have a notebook close by, they are all around the house and there’s always one in my handbag.

Craftroom Organisation – Embellishment Holder

Today I have a holder I made for my Embellishments and Metallic Thread. They were all stored in different drawers and I was fed up having to keep going backwards and forwards every time I needed to embellish something.

After watching a Dawn Griffith video where she cut the Acetate Card Boxes in half and put sweets inside I had to find out if the Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals, Rhinestones/Pearls, Doilies etc. would fit and they did.

Decorative Wine Bottle using Stampin’ Up! products

Thank you for joining me today for another It’s A Wrap Wednesday project. Christmas is less than 3 months away so today’s project shows how to make a simple bottle of wine look classy and expensive (whoever receives this will think you spent a lot of money on the gift wrapping).

After making the ‘Elf Jacket’ and the Black & White Snowflake Bottle boxes I decided to make one with non-Christmas DSP.

Embossing Paste Organiser Tutorial

When I showed my Embossing Paste Organiser last Sunday several people asked for a tutorial.  If you missed last weeks post click here.

I didn’t think about a tutorial when I made this so I only scribbled down some of the measurements. It’s taken me a while to work out all of the measurements and I remade the tray, post-it-notes holder and mask holder because it’s better to see a photo than explain how to make it.
