Happy Father’s Day

I would like to wish all the amazing dad’s a very Happy Father’s Day, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Making masculine cards can be difficult sometimes but the High Tide stamp set was perfect for the Father’s Day cards I wanted to make.

I needed a card for my dad, Geoff’s dad and his step-dad and as my dad and Geoff’s dad live by the sea I thought the lighthouse would be perfect.

I was in my craftroom planning the layout for the cards when my box of Stampin’ Up! goodies arrived.  I ordered the New Colour Assortment ink pads and I couldn’t wait to see all the new colours we now have.  Now I had them in my hands I was itching to try them out.

These are the colours I used:-

• The lighthouse was stamped using Poppy Parade ink.
• The sea and sky were sponged with Balmy Blue ink.  I would always use Soft Sky ink but this has now retired, in my opinion Balmy Blue is even better.
• The sun was sponged with Pineapple Punch with a little bit of Mango Melody.
• The grasses were full strength and 2nd generation Mossy Meadow ink.
• The sand was sponged with Sahara Sand ink and then stamped with full strength ink.
• The birds in the sea were stamped with Crumb cake and the birds in the sky are in Soft Suede ink.

I also embossed the Balmy Blue cardbase and Blueberry Bushel matting layers with the Seaside Embossing Folder.

I hope the 3 dads like their card, I will find out later today when Geoff and I speak to them.

Several ladies requested a tutorial for the gift bags and cards, I wanted to let you know that I am working on this at the moment and I will post the tutorial as soon as I can.

Ink colours
