Pootler’s Blog Hop – Autumn/Winter Catalogue 2017

I’ve been really looking forward to today because it’s time for the Pootlers Autumn/Winter Blog Hop.  My fellow Pootlers always create wonderful projects and when I hop around everyone’s blog I’m always bursting with ideas and inspiration and I know you will be too.  To continue hopping please click on the ‘Next’  button at the bottom of this post.

All the projects in todays hop were made with products available in the 2017 Autumn/Winter catalogue and the 2017/18 Annual catalogue.

Christmas is only 14 weeks away and it’s the time of year when people you haven’t seen for a while turn up unexpectedly or you receive a party invitation you wasn’t expecting.  I like to have some ‘just in case gifts’ so I bought a few bottles of wine to gift wrap.  I planned to put them in the 6″ x 17″ cello bags but then I spotted the champagne bottle on my worktop.

I made the box for this champagne bottle two years ago, after cutting and scoring 2 sheets of my best cardstock I realised my measurements were wrong.   I didn’t want to waste the cardstock so I played for a bit and came up with this. When it was finished it reminded me of an Elf’s collar.

I had left the champagne bottle on my worktop with the intention of making another one in Green.  I thought this would be perfect for this year’s ‘just in case gifts’.  I went through my green cardstock and the Garden Green cardstock just seemed to be the right shade to use to make the Elf Wine Bottle Box.

In the Be Merry DSP pack there are 2 sheets of DSP that have a Whisper White background with small Garden Green Stars and I thought these would be perfect for this project.

The Stars, Snowflakes and Bells are from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies.  I also made a pillow box stocking to match the Wine Bottle Box.  The sentiment on the stocking is from the Merry Little Labels stamp set and I used the coordinating Everyday Label Punch.

I fell in love with the new Merry Music Speciality Designer Series Paper as soon as I saw it in the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  Black and White may not be traditional Christmas colours but I think it works really well for Christmas and Black and White always looks really elegant.

I made my own glimmer card for the snowflakes and attached them to a piece of Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon, I also added a snowflake to the coordinating pillow box.  The sentiment is from the Christmas in the Making stamp set and punched it with the Everyday Label punch.  There is a LOT of sparkle on these boxes but they are for Christmas.

I hope you like the wine bottle boxes, these gifts would be gratefully received by family, friends and hosts/hostesses.

Please continue hopping by clicking on the ‘Next’ button below.

Thank you for stopping by today, I’m going to see what everyone else has made today.

Have yourself some crafting fun.

The products used to make todays project are listed below.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin’ Up! cardstock.   I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made.  When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*

That is beautiful, its like a jacket for the bubbly!! Unfortunately the contents of the bottle would not last long enough for me to make a jacket for it, but it is so cute. x
