J20 Lip Balm Boxes Tutorial

I have had several requests for a tutorial for the little boxes I made for the J20 lip balms.

The finished Dimensions of the Lip Seal Box are 2-5/8″ (h) x 3/4″ (w) x 3/4″ (d).

Cut cardstock to 5-1/8″ x 3-1/2″.  If you are going to stamp the cardstock stamp it before scoring,I forgot to stamp mine first so some of the images didn’t stamp properly.

Score the long side at 1/2″, 1-1/4″, 3-7/8″ & 4-5/8″.  Score the short side at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″ & 3″.

I added a thumb notch for easier opening, you can skip this step.  To get the thumb notch in the right place I cut a 1/2″ circle from a scrap of cardstock, added a bit of snail to the back of it, attached it where I wanted it and then punched it with the 1/2″ circle punch.

I added a strip of Fast Fuse to the 1/2″ tab and adhered the box.

For the Berry Burst box the DSP panels were cut to 2-1/2″ x 5/8″.

For the Lemon Lime Box I cut 4 pieces of White cardstock to 2-1/2″ x 5/8″.  The 4 DSP panels were cut to 2-3/8″ x 1/2″.

For the Pumpkin Pie Box I cut the DSP to 2-1/2″ x 3-5/8″ and wrapped it around the box.

I stamped the bubbles from the Bubble Over stamp set on the Melon Mambo box.  Details of the stamp set and bundle are shown in the Product List below.

The For You sentiment is from the Vertical Greetings stamp set.  I used the Classic Label Punch to punch the sentiment.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin’ Up! cardstock. I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made. When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*
