Epic Celebrations Covered Notebooks

I LOVE covered notebooks, if I see them in a shop I have to take a look but they can be really expensive.

It’s a lot cheaper to buy a pad, choose your own pretty paper and cover it yourself.   I have been crafting for many years and during that time I have bought or received quite a few designer paper stacks, I can’t resist pretty papers and Kayleigh buys them for me too.

I don’t hoard DSP, I have no problem cutting up a sheet of pretty DSP but you can only use so much of it.  When I blitzed my craftroom a couple of weeks ago I went through my DSP and if I had 2 packs of the same DSP I gave the other pack to my best friend and downline Helen because she is still fairly new to crafting.

While I was in Wilko’s recently I bought some more writing pads, jotter pads and I also found some wire bound books that had post-it-notes in various sizes so I bought a couple of those too.

I wasn’t sure about the Bubbles & Fizz DSP when I saw it in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I got it because it coordinated with the Bubble Over bundle I was ordering and I knew it would be great for masculine projects.  I’m so glad I got it because I have used it for several projects, I have another project later this week with this DSP.

My friends eldest is going away to university later this year and I thought it would be nice to give them some covered notebooks as a going away gift.  On the front of the pads I wanted to add some of the images from the Epic Celebrations stamp set and I needed a paper that would be suitable for either male or female recipients so I chose the beautiful Bermuda Bay dsp with stars all over it.

After covering the writing pad I added a little pocket to the inside that holds a booklet of 1st Class stamps.  The pocket holds the stamps snuggly so they won’t fall out.  The writing pad might not be used to write letters to family and friends but you always need stamps.

I am really pleased with how they turned out and I think they are suitable for a male or female.  I didn’t add any ribbon, baker’s twine or embellishments to these, I thought about it but decided to keep them as they are.
