Have you heard of the Rubber Band technique? I have been crafting for many years and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it.
I recently watched a video tutorial by my good friend Amanda Charlesworth (Scrimpingmommy) and I loved her card (below). The effect you get with the rubber bands looked so amazing I had to try it.
I decided to change the layout for my cards because the Daisies are so pretty I didn’t want to risk losing any of the detail if I stamped them on the Rubber Band background.
For my 1st card (below) I used Gorgeous Grape ink to stamp the Rubber Bands and the Daisies and Highland Heather ink to sponge the background panel.
I had so much fun with this technique and I loved the card so much I decided to make some more. This time I stamped the larger Daisy with Lovely Lipstick and Coastal Cabana ink.
As these cards could be used for many occasions I haven’t added a sentiments yet.

RUBBER BAND TECHNIQUE BACKGROUNDS
This technique is really easy and you can use it on your cards and 3D projects.
- For my card, I started off by masking off an area on the card front but you could also stamp the whole card.
- Wrap as many rubber bands as you want around an acrylic stamp block.
- Press the acrylic stamp block onto an Ink pad as if you were inking up a stamp.
- Stamp onto your cardstock, rotate the acrylic stamp block and stamp in 2nd and 3rd generation ink before re-inking the rubber bands
