Back in August I experimented with heat embossing the foil snowflakes and found that after adding 2-3 coats of embossing powder they looked metallic (click here to see the post.)
I want to share with you today how beautiful these look on Basic Black card bases, I chose black because it made the metallic embossing really stand out.
To adhere the snowflakes I added small dots of multipurpose liquid glue. I was going to put the glue on a silicone craft mat and use a sponge to add the glue but I didn’t want to risk getting glue on the heat embossing.
For the Copper snowflake I stamped ‘A Christmas wish for You’ onto vellum with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink added Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it. The sentiment is from the Best Gifts stamp set.
The white snowflake was heat embossed with a mixture of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The ‘Merry Christmas from our family to yours’ is from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set. I used the Merry Music Speciality DSP on both the White and Silver snowflake cards.
For the silver snowflake I stamped ‘Merry Christmas’ onto Whisper White cardstock and added a black matting layer. The sentiment is from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. I wrapped some silver metallic thread around the card base before adhering with dimensionals. I added one of the large clear faceted gems to the centre of the snowflake.
I hope you like my snowflake cards, maybe you will make some too.
Have yourself some crafting fun.
The products used to make todays project are also listed below.
*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin’ Up! cardstock. I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made. When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*
