Geoff has been ill for over a week and he’s not well enough to make the Halloween walkthrough for the Children this year, he hates letting people down. I think we will put a few tombstones and decoratations in the front garden because we will still have 300+ children knock on the door on the 31st.
I have been playing with the inks again but surprisingly my hands weren’t covered in ink this time. I bought some of the oval make-up brushes to see how they worked with Stampin’ Up! inks and I had so much fun I made 5 cards – 3 for Halloween and 2 Christmas cards with DIY Puffy Snow on them. I’m adding this puffy snow on everything at the moment.
The only Halloween stamp set I bought this year was The Raven, I have lots of retired Halloween stamps but nothing that has a Raven in it.
The first cards I made were with shades of blues and puples and I love how they turned out. Using the largest make-up brush for the stencilled background (above) was so easy and it didn’t take long to do either.
For the background on the card above I stamped the feather all over the Black 5″ x 7″ cardbase and clear embossed it. I watered down some White paint and added white splatters on the focal image. This is the 1st time I’ve tried it and I think I like it, my OCD doesn’t.
This Blue, Black and Silver card has lots of shimmer and dimension. I have embossed the cardbase using one of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. After running it through my Big Shot with the embossing sandwich and the silicone mat I used a Sponge Dauber to add some Silvery Shimmer Delicata ink.
I will definitely be using these make-up brushes again, the colours are softer, they were really easy to work with and no harsh edges that you get sometimes with a blending tool.
I hope you have a great day.
