I don’t know what happened to the photo’s in the original post but I have updated them for you. I have my fingers crossed that it works.
Thank you for joining me today. A few weeks ago I shared a Sweet/Candy shaped box that I had made and I typed up a tutorial for it.
Today I have another sweet/candy shaped box for you that is slightly narrower than the original one and it holds a Happy Hippo.
After making the Hippo’s in a Mini Pizza box I just had to make another box using the delightful Hippo design from the Animal Outing DSP pack and as the sweet shaped box was still in my head I came up with this cute little box. The finished dimensions are 5-1/2″ x 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″.
This box would be great for young and old, male and female and you could make these boxes for any occasion. I have used Pool Party cardstock to coordinate with the DSP but these boxes look great in any colour. I have a more masculine box coming up soon.

Dimensions*
Pool Party Cardstock: – 5-1/2″ x 6-1/2″.
Score the long side at 1/2″ and 1-1/2″ on both sides.
Score the short side at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″ and 5″. With the short side still at the top of your scoreboard you need to add a partial score line at the top and the bottom at 1-7/8″ and 3-1/8″ to the first score line and then use a ruler and stylus to add the diagonal scorelines (the triangles).
The image below is for the first box I made so the measurements are different but it shows what I mean about the partial scorelines and the diagonal/triangle scorelines. You can click on the image to enlarge it.
When you have added the scorelines place the short side in the scoreboard again and score at every 1/8″ down to the first score line. Rotate 180 degrees and score again at every 1/8″. This is optional because it can be strenuous on the hands, it was for me.
I CASED this from Sam at Mixed Up Crafts and she has a great video tutorial that shows most of this, I changed up her idea by adding the diagonal scorelines because it made it quicker and easier to shape the box. You will find her tutorial really helpful, click here to see it.

Whisper White cardstock – 4 pieces measuring 3-3/8″ x 1-1/8″.
Animal Expedition DSP – 4 pieces of DSP measuring 3-1/4″ x 1″.
*When designing a project or when I CASE (Copy And Share Everything) someone’s project I ALWAYS make it with some cheap cardstock first. When typing up lots of measurements mistakes can be made, we are human after all. It doesn’t help that I have Dyscalculia. When making any project I recommend making it first with the cheap stuff.*
