Partial Embossing Technique Cards

Thank you so much for joining me today.  When it comes to crafting I don’t feel comfortable praising myself, I worry about people not liking my projects and I am my own worst critic but I am super excited about the cards I want to share today.

In all the years I’ve been crafting I have never looked at something I’ve made and said “Wow, you made that” until I made these 2 cards.

I made the cards using the Partial Embossing technique and the Wonderful Moments stamp set.  Have you tried the partial embossing technique?  It looks stunning and gives your project that wow factor and the recipient always asks how it was done.

The 1st card is a 1 layer card and I used the Petal Burst embossing folder for the partial embossing and for the background of the oval I used a blending brush and Highland Heather ink.  The photo’s didn’t come out very well with this card and by the time I realised I’d already given it to my son TJ for Jamie and Kerry’s wedding .

One of my good friends Amanda Charlesworth was celebrating her wedding anniversary this month and she loves pink so I went with Powder Pink ink for her card. The background is partially embossed with the Swirls and Curls embossing folder which is one of the new embossing folders in the upcoming Autumn/Winter catalogue 2018.   Amanda is also a demonstrator and has a blog and YouTube channel called Scrimpingmommy.

This was going to be a 1 layer card but I decided to cut it down and adhered it to a Powder Pink card base for Amanda.

I love the effect you get with a blending brush, you can get a very subtle colour or add more ink for a deeper colour.  I coloured the bouquet on Amanda’s card with the Powder Pink and Soft Sea foam Stampin Write markers.  I made little swirly circles with the fine tip of the Powder Pink marker to make them look like flowers.

For the hair I used the Bronze Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker and the TN7 Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker.

I added 3 of the small Basic Pearls to the back of the dress and then covered the dress with the Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

I coloured the bouquet with the Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write markers.  For the hair I used the Bronze Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker and the Ivory Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker for the skin.  I added sparkle to the wedding dress with the Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

I was so excited when I saw Amanda show my card in one of her YouTube videos and she loved the card.  The card looks better in the video compared to the photo’s and if you would like to see it click here.

Cardbase Full sheet of A4 cardstock cut in half at 4 1/8″ on the short side.

*When designing a project or when I CASE (Copy And Share Everything) someone’s project I ALWAYS make it with some cheap cardstock first. When typing up lots of measurements mistakes can be made, we are human after all. It doesn’t help that I have Dyscalculia. When making any project I recommend making it first with the cheap stuff.*
