Thank you for joining me for the 2nd part of my Last Minute Valentine’s Crafting series.
Today I have some really cute 3D Heart Ornaments that can be made with punches, nesting dies or an electric cutting machine.
To make each 3D Open Heart I used 6 hearts. The scalloped heart on the outside is 3″ and the solid heart is 2 ½”
- Score the centre of each heart and fold in half.
- Add glue to one half of one of the hearts then line up another heart on top of the glue. Liquid glue gives you some time to align the hearts properly. You will need to use a strong adhesive
- Do this with the rest of the hearts until you are left with 2 halves that need adhering but don’t adhere them yet.
- Before adhering the last 2 sections add your twine/thread and embellishments.
- Glue the remaining 2 halves together.
For the Key to my Heart ornament above I used one of the little car keys in the Classic Garage Metal Elements.
After making the 3D Open Hearts I was left with lots of 2 ½” solid hearts. I wasn’t going to waste them so I put my Design Head on and came up with this cool Heart Ornament with a Ferrero Rocher attached to it.
What do you think of today’s projects? They are quick and easy to make and they look really pretty too. I think these would be a great masculine gift too.
These could be made for Weddings, Anniversaries and many more occasions not just Valentine’s Day.
