Thank you for joining us today for our 1st InspirINK Blog Hop. We were previously known as the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop but we progressed from just having a sketch for our projects so our lovely team leader Sam Roberts came up with this fantastic new name.
We have had lots of talented ladies join us over the last few weeks and I would like to welcome them to our team.
I know the ladies have lots of fabulous projects for you today so please check them out by clicking on the Next button at the bottom of this post. Our theme for todays hop is Sparkle, Shimmer and Shine.
I was thrilled to bits when I found out what the theme was, I LOVE anything sparkly and this card definitely has a lot of sparkle.
I’ve been playing with the Cake Soiree bundle for the last couple of weeks and I love it, I have a few projects that I will be sharing in the next few weeks. To be honest I love all the products in the Sweet Soiree Suite except the DSP.
For my card I heat embossed the cake with Silver embossing powder, die-cut it and for a bit of shimmer I added some Wink of Stella. I die-cut the Cake Stand from a scrap of Silver Foil sheet and used the Layered Leaves Dynamic embossing folder to emboss the Silver layer.
I also heat embossed the sentiment, I didn’t stamp the Happy Birthday part of the sentiment because the card can be used for occasions other than a Birthday. I used another scrap of Silver Foil Sheet for the sentiment layer and added 2 Clear Faceted Gems for a bit more sparkle.
In the sunlight this card really does Sparkle, Shimmer and Shine. I’m really pleased with how this card came out and it was a great way to use up some of those ‘just in case’ scraps.
If you enjoyed todays project why not subscribe to my blog, you will receive an email notification when I have a new project to share. To subscribe simply add your email address to the subscription link at the top of the right-hand column.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin’ Up! cardstock. I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made. When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*
This project was designed and created by Dee Copus-Read. If you CASE this project please include my name and a link to my website and this blog post. Thank you. Dee x
