I’m Spring Cleaning my craftroom at the moment. I started with the stamp sets and then I went through all my Stampin’ Up! cardstock and Designer Series Paper (DSP). I have lots of strips of cardstock/DSP and the majority of them are 1½”-2½” wide and 8¼”, 11¾” or 12″ long.
I store my A4 card and 12″ DSP in plastic protectors, at the front of each one I have a page protector for the scraps. Keeping them at the front makes it easier for me to check the scraps before cutting into a full sheet.
I really need to use them so I put my thinking head on and had a design day. I surprised myself with how many ways I came up with to use them and I’m going to share these over the next few weeks.
Do you have any projects that can help me use these strips? I would love some more ideas.
White Cardstock Strips
One of the quickest and easiest ways I found to use up some of the Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock strips was to stamp different sentiments and punch or die-cut them.
Look at the punches and dies you already have otherwise Stampin’ Up! have:-
- Circle punches that range from ½” – 2¼”.
- Various label punches.
- Circle, Oval and Square layering dies.
- Stitched Shaped framelits dies and Stitched Rectangle dies.
Another great way to use these strips is to stamp an image and a sentiment and use the Banner Triple Punch or Tag Topper Scalloped punch to make tags and bookmarks. The track on both of these punches is 2″ wide so it’s perfect.

Punches
I save every little piece of paper or cardstock . . . I save them for a follower I had who had taken some scrapbooking classes. She surprised me two days ago . . . she had done two pictures with little strips 1″ or less. She had also used the negatives of punched forms. I told her I was learning how to scrap but that she was a born scrapper (scraper – ?) Thanks for the ideas, in particular the tags.
