When I reorganised my cardstock last month I found a box of vellum that my Mother-in-Law gave me several months ago.
In the box there were several sheets of coloured vellum and I thought it was a good idea to use some to punch/die-cut several flowers and leaves, that was until I tried finding cardstock, ink and embellishments to match.
It would be a lot easier if I could colour vellum with my Stampin’ Up! inks but I’ve not tried it before so I thought I would give it a try.

The first colours I chose were Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. I could move the ink around easily on the vellum with a dauber and the ink doesn’t have to be perfectly blended.
The next colours I tried were Balmy Blue and Bermuda Bay, this combination is so pretty. I love shaker cards and instead of using sequins I put lots of seed beads in it and they are so much better than sequins.

I wasn’t going to add this card and bookmark because I’m not really happy with it. I wanted to make rainbow vellum but I found it difficult with the daubers, next time I’m going to try a sponge brayer.

I had fun colouring the vellum but to be honest I always have fun when I’m crafting. After colouring the vellum I left it overnight to make sure the ink was dry before making the cards and bookmark.
I hope this has inspired you to give it a try.
Have yourself some crafting fun.
