Heat Embossed Foil Snowflakes

I was heat embossing Christmas sentiments yesterday afternoon and out of the corner of my eye I spotted the Foil Snowflakes I had on my worktop and I had one of those ‘light bulb moments’.

There are 12 gold and 12 silver snowflakes but I wanted to see if I could emboss them with copper embossing powder.

How to Steampunk your Shoes

I love Stampin’ Up! products but every now and then Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have the stamps I need.  Some of our friends love Steampunk and they have had birthdays over the last few months so I used Stampin’ Up! products to make this card but I had to buy the stamps from Stampendous!

Nalini had a birthday coming up and I wanted to make a special steampunk shoes card for her.  The card I made had quite a bit of heat embossing but the end result was worth it.

Metallic Rose Cards

These are the 4 Roses I heat embossed with Silver, Gold, Platinum and Copper embossing powders.  The photo doesn’t do them justice because they look stunning in real life.

I was going to put these Roses in a frame and put it in my craftroom but I decided to make them into cards instead.  

For 3 of the cards I used Basic Black cardstock because I really wanted to make sure the metallic embossing stood out.  I also made sure I only used colours that would complement the metallic embossing and not distract from it.

Gold, Silver, Platinum and Copper Heat Embossing Comparison

Metallic colours are still really popular and I love images that have been heat embossed with metallic embossing powders, they look stunning.
