3 Ways to Gift Wrap Tic Tacs – Old Meets New

Are you ready for the festive season or are you like me still doing Christmas shopping and wrapping presents?

I have been looking after Kayleigh for the last 2 weeks, her surgery went well and she is now at home and getting better every day.

Yesterday it snowed here and everything looked so pretty, it has helped to get me in the mood for Christmas.

Today I have 3 different ways of wrapping the large boxes of Tic Tacs, my hubby adores them and they make great stocking fillers.

When I was choosing which cardstock, DSP and stamps to use I picked ones that would be ideal for male or female recipients.

Book Box

I love making the Book boxes and having a tab closure is quicker and easier for me than a ribbon closure.  Marina Mist isn’t a traditional Christmas colour but I love this shade of blue.  Instead of doing a tone-on-tone with the coordinating ink I stamped the snowflakes image from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set with Versamark.

I added a label to the back of the box and on the side of the box I added a piece of white organza and as a finishing tough I added one of the Year of Cheer Embellishments.  I added the ribbon so that I can hang this gift on my Christmas Tree.

I have used some retired DSP I still had leftover to make the holder, I need to use up as much retired DSP as I can to make room for the new ones coming in January.

DSP Wrap/Holder – 6″ x 4-1/4″. Score short side at 7/8″.  I didn’t score the long side it’s easier to wrap the DSP around the box and pinch it at the corners at the top of the box then fold and burnish it gently.

Ribbon Slider Holder

This is a quick and easy way to wrap gifts and you can use cardstock or DSP, it is definitely easier to use DSP though.  When you use DSP you don’t need to score it you just wrap it around the gift, add a strip of tear & tape and adhere it.

I used Garden Green cardstock but if I were to make it again I would use DSP. I added a small piece of Be Merry DSP to decorate the front and added the elf image.  I had coloured this image earlier and even though it is retired I didn’t want to waste it.

Envelope Punch Board Box

I haven’t used my Envelope Punch Board for quite a while and it was time to bring it out again because this little tool is perfect for making boxes as well as envelopes.

I made the box with the Be Merry DSP, it was slightly bigger than I wanted it but that was ok.  I used  Gold embossing powder to heat emboss the From Santa sentiment (Oh, What Fun photopolymer stamp set).  I die-cut the sentiment, a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and a piece of Gold Glimmer paper with the Layering Circle Dies and added them to the front of the box.  For a finishing touch I added one of the Year of Cheer Embellishments.

I hope you found the 3 different styles of gift wrapping helpful, a DSP Ribbon Slider box is definitely the quickest and easiest to do.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin’ Up! cardstock.   I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made.  When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*
